I earned a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry from UC Berkeley and graduated with honors from Tel Aviv University with a Master’s degree in chemistry. I have conducted research in a metallo-organic chemistry lab, studied drug-drug interactions in a biochemistry lab at Genentech, and evaluated academic manuscripts as a science copy editor at Nature Publishing Group.
In middle school, the sight of a math problem would bring me to tears, but one inspirational teacher helped me to overcome my fears and encouraged me to pursue a career in science. I now have 7 years’ experience in tutoring chemistry, biology and math to middle school, high school and college students in San Francisco. Some of the schools my students have attended include City College of San Francisco and Berkeley City College, as well as Urban, Drew, Lowell, Convent of the Sacred Heart and University High Schools. I have been a math and science tutor for Drew High School’s in-house tutoring program since 2012, and in the summer of 2015 I taught an intensive 6-week summer school course in chemistry at the school.
My experiences in both labs and science communication have provided me with a well-rounded perspective of math and science as well as a wealth of real-world examples that I use in teaching. My goal is to make complex subjects more approachable and the experience of learning more enjoyable.

Smriti Sridhar
Hi! My name is Smriti and graduated last June with a B.S. and M.S. in chemical engineering at Stanford. In high school, I was in the International Baccalaureate program, and I also took AP exams and the SATs. I’ve been tutoring professionally for over 3 years, with students of ages ranging from 13 to 30 years old. I’m capable of tutoring high school math and any science, as well as college chemistry and first-year college sciences. I love tutoring – I want to pursue a career in teaching, because I think education (in all aspects) is extremely valuable, and I want to be a part of that process.
